Lock your RSVP form with an RSVP code

Add a code guests type before they can answer, so a forwarded RSVP link cannot reply for the guest it was made for.

Updated

An RSVP link opens the form for the guest or group it was made for. If that link is forwarded, whoever gets it could answer for your guest. An RSVP code stops that: guests type the code before the RSVP form opens.

The code locks only the RSVP form. Everyone with your link still sees the rest of your invitation. To hide the whole invitation, use a password instead, or both.

The RSVP code works on every plan, free and Premium.

Set an RSVP code

  1. Open your invitation's Overview.
  2. Click Event Settings.
  3. Under RSVP code, type your code. It needs at least 4 characters.
  4. Click Set.

You will see RSVP code set, and the RSVP code section now shows On.

Share the code separately from the link: print it on your invitation card, or tell it to guests in person. A code sent in the same message as the link would be forwarded with it.

What guests see

Your invitation opens as usual. In the RSVP section, guests are asked for the RSVP code from your invitation, with a box for it and a Continue button. With the right code, their RSVP form (or the name search) appears right there.

  • Capital letters do not matter, and neither do spaces before or after the code: "Sampaguita" and " sampaguita " both work. Spaces inside the code count.
  • After too many wrong tries, guests are asked to wait a few minutes.
  • The phone remembers the code, so a guest who comes back to change an answer does not type it again.

The code covers every way in: a group's link, each guest's personal link, and the name search.

Change or remove the code

Open Event Settings. Under RSVP code:

  • Click Change, type the new code, then click Change again. Guests who entered the old code need the new one.
  • Click Remove to open the RSVP form to anyone with the link again.

Frequently asked questions

I set a code but my RSVP form opens without it. Is it broken?

No. You and your co-owners skip the code while you are signed in, and the Design Studio preview never asks for it. To see what guests see, click Open it as a guest under RSVP code in Event Settings, or open your link in a private browser window.

Can I use a password and an RSVP code together?

Yes. Guests without an RSVP link type the password first to see your invitation, then the RSVP code to answer. RSVP links skip the password unless you ticked Also require password for RSVP links, but they always ask for the RSVP code.

Does the code change my guests' links?

No. Their links stay the same. The code is one more step on the RSVP form.
